# Embedded Sign-In

## Purpose

Connect WhatsApp Business assets to the portal using a guided Meta embedded signup flow.

## Who this is for

Administrators and technical operators onboarding WhatsApp for the first time or adding new business assets.

## Prerequisites

* Meta Business Manager admin access for the owning business.
* Legal business details and support contact information ready.
* Phone number available for WhatsApp API (not active on consumer or Business App); OTP via SMS or voice.
* For a full walkthrough (new number or migration), see [Adding a WhatsApp Phone Number (Embedded Sign-In Guide)](/syntphony-messaging-portal/messaging-tools/technology/whatsapp-add-phone-embedded-signin-guide.md).
* For first-time setup only (no BSP migration), see [First-Time WhatsApp Onboarding (Customer Guide)](/syntphony-messaging-portal/messaging-tools/technology/whatsapp-first-time-embedded-signin-customer-guide.md).

## Steps

1. Open **Technology** and go to **Embedded Sign-In** (or **Sign in with Facebook** / **Embedded Sign-In** as labeled in your tenant).
2. Authenticate with Meta business credentials.
3. Accept requested permissions so the platform can manage WhatsApp assets.
4. Select or create the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and phone assets in the flow.
5. Complete phone verification (SMS or voice OTP).
6. Confirm permissions and finish onboarding.
7. Register the number in [Phone Configuration](/syntphony-messaging-portal/messaging-tools/administration/phone-configuration.md) if it does not appear automatically.

## Expected outcome

The selected assets are available for channel configuration in Administration and for outbound Communication.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs-conversational-ai.syntphony.com/syntphony-messaging-portal/messaging-tools/technology/embedded-sign-in.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
